Our ward had a campout a few weeks ago. The Burdick's would not miss an opportunity to go camping, so we go our stuff out of storage and off we went.
Well, is was nothing like washington camping like we are used to. First, it was November.....who goes camping in November? That take a little getting used to. Kevin and I decided since Jake was on a scout campout that he and I would sleep in the bed of his truck and the others kids could sleep in the tent. Well we didn't know how cold it gets at night and windy. Every thing was okay until Cody woke up at 4am. I must have let all the toasty warm air out of the blankets 'cause after that there was no going back. Well, maybe I could have gone back to sleep if it wasn't for the coyotes howling just outside the campsite. Yes, coyotes!!! It sounded like there were 20 of them. OK, well maybe 10....more like 5. Well, needless to say I didn't get much sleep after that and Kevin's air mattress deflated so he went with Cody to sleep in the cab of the truck.
It is also kinda weird to camp on gravel. Yep, sorta like a big parking lot! And it was only 15 minutes from our house. If I would have known that I would have sleep in my own bed!!!!!
But we had a good time. The people were fun, the food was great! (i didn't have to cook)
