BRACES

Jake got braces the last week of April!!!! He thought is got off lucky because at first they didn't hurt. He even went to football practice that night. Later that night it caught up with him...wearing a mouth guard and getting tackled most likely didn't help. After that he had a steady diet of apple sauce, ice cream, gogurt and oatmeal!!!!
Before...After...

He is all good now. You can't see it in these pictures (he didn't like me taking them) but they actually make him look older!
He will have them on for the next 22 months.....February 2012!!!!

I'm Back

First off, I know that it has been a VERY long time! I just wasn't feelin' the blog thing and then got totally overwhelmed. We have had quite a bit happen since I last posted...I am not going to try and "catch up", but I'll give some highlights!

We have had some b-days in the Burdick house so far this year. Technically 3, but I'm not counting mine. :) Jake and Noah both had birthdays...Jake turning 14 and Noah turning 9. Kevin decided that this year the theme would be weapons!!! SWEEEEET!

Jake with his very own 300 win mag and a proud Dad!

Noah got a Swiss Army knife...no stitches yet...crossing our fingers!

Haka

Jake's scout troop performing the Haka for one of their leaders who recently has moved. It is pretty cool to watch the boys do it.

Court of Honor

Jake received his Star rank and is one away from getting his Life. He also earded 7 merit badges, 5 were earned at scout camp!
His troop went to Camp Geronimo. They received the Big "G" Gold award as well. I think that has something to do with daily camp site inspections. Anyway it was the highest award a troop could get at the camp. He also recieved the Spirit Award for his troop. Jake went to NLYT camp for a week this summer as well as scout camp. It was a leadership training camp. Jake and Kevin also earned their On My Honor award. So it was a 'big" night for the Burdick's!!! I am very proud of Jake. It is good to know that all his hard work is paying off!

Sami's Party

We had such a blast at Sami's b-day. The girls went swimming at my sisters (thanks) , tie dyed canvas totes bags and made flower clips..... then back to my house for ice cream cake (YUM) , presents and a movie. We had some time after the movie so we played Ninja. It was a lot of fun!!! My niece Lauren was Party Girl extraordinaire! Couldn't have done it without her.... thanks Lauren!!!

Samantha's birthday invitation

My friend made this on her computer. It looks so AWESOME!
Thanks Laura!

Cody's First Day

PRESCHOOL STARTED !!!!!

Cody is going to Amanecer Preschool. It is a special needs integrated school. Meaning special needs children and typically developing children are together. He goes 5 days a week for 2 1/2 hours a day. With the bus ride it ends up being around 3 1/2 hours. (1/2 hour each way) I know that seems like a lot and most days it is, but he comes home talking A LOT. He likes to tell me about his day and the toys he played with etc. We are hoping that is school will help him speech. He comes home and just wants to chill out so we don't do much in the afternoon. Besides if I can't get my errands done in 3 1/2 hours than I need to be more organized!!!

Waiting for the bus

The bus ride.... a little scary!
